Children from Lebanon taking part in the illustrated "Children's Book on Volunteerism"

As part of the activities marking the Tenth Anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers (IYV+10), the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme organized the creation of a children's book on volunteerism with the support of partners around the globe.

The children's book on volunteerism illustrates the diversity of volunteerism with a global representation of impressions, thoughts and experiences of the next generation of volunteers.
Children aged 4 to 11 from diverse cultural and geographical backgrounds drew painted and written short stories about their ideas and experiences of volunteerism, community participation and community support.

A selection of drawings, about volunteerism in national languages was collected from 24 countries. 5 drawings from each country will be published in the form of a book which will be launched around 5 December 2011. The rest of the drawings will be photographed and uploaded into social media pages, the IYV+10 website or www.worldvolunteerweb.org .

Lebanon participated with 36 drawings from which 5 only will be published in the book.
