The distribution of households according to the degrees of satisfaction for the index of income-related indicators reflects a difference in kind between the mohafazats of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, on the one hand, and the other four mohafazats, on the other. The proportion of households classified below the threshold of satisfaction amounts to 35.2 percent for Beirut, and 33.5 percent for Mount Lebanon (Table 48). Both cases are noticeably below the national average of 42.8 percent. In the remaining four mohafazats, the proportion of households below the threshold exceeds 50 percent of resident households; being very close in the mohafazats of the North, south and Bekaa, and slightly higher in the Mohafazat of Nabatieh.

The ranking of the mohafazats is altered when classified according to the percentage share of deprived households in total deprived households in the country (Table 49). Thus, the highest concentration of deprived households is to be found in the Mohafazat of Mount Lebanon (30.6 percent), followed by the Mohafazat of the North (23.1 percent); with the Mohafazat of Nabatieh coming at the end of the scale. The high ranking of Mount Lebanon is mainly due to the large share of deprived households which inhabit the suburbs of the capital, but which are administratively part of the kadas of Baabda (11.4 percent) and El-Metn (8.8 percent).
