The
study shows that the decline in the degree of satisfaction with respect
to the income-related indicators is strongly correlated with
unemployment and retirement (Table 46). Permanent workers and day
laborers constitute 76 percent of the work force, according to the Labor
Force Study. This means that the wage situation and changes in it exert
a strong influence on the general level of incomes. In view of the
absence of unemployment benefits in Lebanon, this would mean that the
flow of income would cease completely in the case of the unemployed.

category of low satisfaction (40.9 percent). The situation of
independent workers is somewhat better (37.3 percent); while the
majority of employers (58.4 percent) enjoy a high degree of
satisfaction.
