1. How long does it take for an application to be processed?
Applications are usually reviewed within one week of the vacancy closing date. Your application will be reviewed carefully in relation to the requirements of the position and the relative qualifications of other candidates. If you have not been contacted in the following two weeks, please consider your application closed since it did not make it to the short list, and no correspondence will be forthcoming from UNDP. If it is has been decided to pursue your application, UNDP will invite you for a technical test - only for some positions - or directly for an interview.
2. How long does it take until you make a decision on an advertised vacancy?
It depends on the circumstances and the number of qualified candidates who apply. Typically, it takes about two months from the time that the position is advertised.
3. Do you hire people on a part-time basis?
Not as a practice, however, there are very few part-time openings.

4. How long will my contract be with UNDP?
It is usually depending on the contract modality. Since the bulk of our recruitment in Lebanon is under Service Contracts and Special Service Agreements, your contract with UNDP will be for a maximum period of one year initially, It is renewable for additional periods based upon satisfactory performance, organizational needs, and budget availability. The overall duration of an SSA contract should not exceed 3 years.
5. How will I know that I am selected?
If you are selected for the position, you will be informed within about two weeks from the date of your interview. An offer will be made shortly thereafter.
6. May I apply to more than one position?
Yes. You may apply to more than one position. We would like you to look carefully at the requirements for each position and apply only to those for which you are qualified in order to maintain the credibility of your application.
7. In what currency will I receive my salary?
Your compensation will be paid in Lebanese Pounds, unless you are an international staff.

8. What security measures does UNDP offer?
UNDP is part of the UN Field Security System. Staff recruited for the advertised positions will be fully covered by this program. Details on the various aspect of security will be provided upon appointment.

10. What is the usual working schedule for UNDP country office?
The number of working hours per week is 37.5 excluding lunch time from Monday through Friday.
11. I have not accumulated any years of experience and would like to join your team, what should I do?
For most of our vacancies, UNDP requires some years of relevant experience, however there are few positions that do not require years of experience, the posted job description usually specifies this. Other opportunities could be applying for UNDP Internship or Volunteer program
12. Can I send my CV by e-mail for a specific vacancy after its closing date?
As per our recruitment policy, we cannot accept any applications after the closing date of a vacancy which is stated on the posting announcement at our website.
