Background
SGP Programme in Lebanon was initiated in 2004. Currently SGP is funding 21 projects for the total amount of 550000 USD. It covers 5 main areas: biodiversity, land degradation, climate change, POPs and international waters.

Achievements & Expected Results
A- Impacts in biodiversity
1-Increased conservation and protection of protected areas
2-Decreased loss of forest ecosystems in sensitive areas
3-Improved protection of sensitive species that are important in agriculture.

B-Impacts in Climate change
1- Reduced GHG emissions at the national level

C-Impacts in International Water
1- Reduced ‘run-off’ of pollutants in international water bodies

D-Impacts in Land Degradation
1- Degraded Land restored
2- Sensitive soil conserved

E-Impacts in POPs
1- Reduced use of POPs
